I was born and brought up in dear old Lancashire, hub of civilisation, but for the last 30+ years I have been living in the fine county of Hertfordshire. I'm married, have 2 daughters, and used to work with computers until my retirement at the end of 2009, having started out in IT right back in the balmy old days of punched cards and 64k mainframes. I had a pilots licence, briefly, like to go hill-walking, and from time to time I cycle or haul my creaking frame to the gym to keep fit.
