I set off at 9.35 along a landrover track and paused for few minutes to chat to a couple of keepers who drew up in their landrover. There was a notice about police and conservation groups being alert for egg-stealers so I think they may have been checking me out but they were friendly enough. A straightforward walk up a long gradual track almost to the ridge then onto a footpath through the heather directly towards the top - an easy amble, some fenceposts to show the way as a bit of cloud was closing in now. Ben Chonzie I reached the top at 11:40 - cloudy and got quite cold, had to put gloves & Berghaus on for a while. Saw 2 men & a woman coming down as I went up, and 3 blokes & 2 blokes on the way up as I was descending. I descended the same way I went up and got back to the car at 1:40. My main memory is of the 2 keepers with their shotguns in the landrover and the long, long winding track before the path.
